Live captions for classrooms
The challenge
Deaf and hard-of-hearing learners miss what is said in class. Captions had to handle Kiswahili, English and switching between them.
What I did
- Live captions on each listener's own device
- Kiswahili as spoken, with English alongside
- Reader-set text size, line width and contrast
- Transcript download and AI summary after the session
